The Blue Flames hit the field with energy and determination last Saturday, securing a hard-fought 3-2 win over KAI2! From start to finish, our players showcased hustle and heart with a few hiccups along the way.
A Strong Start – Q1 (2-0)
The Flames wasted no time getting on the board! Sophia A. struck first, scoring 10 minutes into the game after a solid setup from the midfield crew of Sydney, Hadassah, and Blessing. Just five minutes later, Sophia C. controlled a ball off her chest and delivered a perfect pass to Sophia A., who scored again! Meah, Q1 & Q2 Keeper, stood strong in goal, stopping a crucial attempt from KAI2, while Sophia C. nearly netted another goal to extend the lead. The defense held tight, with Natia stepping up to block a key attack from the opposition.
Dominating Defense & Another Goal – Q2 (3-0)
With Sophia C. and Hadassah subbing out, the Blue Flames kept the momentum going. Meah launched a long ball downfield to Sophia A., preventing an opposition goal and keeping the pressure on. Holly stepped up for a penalty kick and drilled it in for another score! The girls kept control of the game, and Meah continued to shine in goal, blocking another attempt from KAI2.
PC1 Fights Back – Q3 (3-2)
With Meah and Natia subbing out, the Flames saw a shift in momentum. Anaiyah fought hard for possession and made a great pass to Sydney, keeping the energy high. However, KAI2 capitalized on a few opportunities when the Blue Flames began bunching, scoring two quick goals to tighten the game. The Flames responded with strong defensive efforts, but the opposition kept pushing. Blessing took a corner kick, that was a great effort even though the shot didn’t find the net. The team regrouped and focused on their game plan heading into the final quarter.
Hustling to the Finish – Q4 (Final: 3-2)
The final quarter saw the Flames playing with heart, talking more, and truly hustling! The team’s chemistry was on full display as they communicated and defended their lead. Sophia A. took a final corner kick, after a solid pass from Nalani. The girls held strong until the last whistle. Goalkeeper Hadassah made sure no last-minute surprises happened, blocking 6 attempts at a goal from KAI2, sealing the win for the Blue Flames!
